Wolves (Den 6)
These are October's
achievements:
Achievement 4 - Know your home
and community. We did 4a-4d at
the den meeting, 4e is to be
completed at home and 4f will be
our next go-see-it. For 4e, the
boys can bring their job chart
with them to the next den
meeting.
Achievement 5 - Tools for Fixing
and Building. The boys completed
all of this, 5a-5e last
Saturday. If you were absent,
this can be completed at home,
or attend a woodworking
workshop at Lowes or Home Depot.
Achievement 9 - Be safe at home
and on the street. All of this
needs to be completed at home,
pages 82 - 87 in the wolf
handbook.
If the boys complete all 3 by
the next Den meeting, they will
receive their first wolf track
bead. Make sure they color in
the wolf prints in their
handbook, we will be checking!
Next Den meeting is November
11th at parks and rec at 6.30,
next pack meeting is Friday 20th
at PES.
Den Planner:
October completed 1a, 2 a - DEN MEETINGS Den Meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month as before, starting from October. Location TBA, but hopefully at parks and rec again. PACK MEETINGS Here is the calendar dates for the Pack Meetings, to be held in the PES cafeteria at 7pm (except for February Blue and Gold dinner and June campout) September 18th October 16th November 20th December 18th January 15th February 26th March 19th April 30th May 21st June 18th PLANNING FOR GO-SEE-ITS AND ACTIVITIES This year we would like the parents to be more involved with the activities, to ensure we keep fresh ideas coming and the boys engaged.. Please take a look at the program overview at the end of this email or in the Wolf handbook, and let us know if you would like to organise a specific activity at a Den meeting, or a go-see-it. There are no specific go-see-its suggested in the Wolf program, so we are flexible with our outings. Some ideas for go-see-its are; Oct - Collecting - program run at a baseball card store in Seymour Nov - Woodworking - workshop at Home Depot/Lowes Dec - Stop and Shop/Shaws education visit Jan - Police/Ambulance Station Feb - Recycling plant March - Airport or aviation related April - Zoo or animal rescue center. Let us know your ideas! ANNUAL REGISTRATION The annual registration fee is due in September of $50. This (together with popcorn and other fundraising) goes towards achievement badges and beltloops, graduation, magazine subscription, blue and gold dinner, campout and a percentage for our den for activity supplies. Please bring a check to the nature hike in Sept, or the Sept Pack meeting at the LATEST.
