Summer Time Events

Remember!  Boys who participate in one Pack event in each of the summer months (June, July, and August) will earn the Summertime Activity Pin at the September Pack Meeting.

June:

6/13/08:  Graduation/Camp out - begins at 5pm

6/18/08:  PES Cleanup & Ice Cream Social - 1pm

July: 

7/20/08:  American Indian Institute, Washington, CT 

Sunday July 20 (coordinator, Erika Parris)

12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

$8 per person due the day of the event. 

There will be a scavenger hunt, hike, and Native American games. 

 

Please email Erika if you are interested in attending so that she can have a rough idea of how many to expect. 

 

7/26/08:  Bluefish Baseball Game

Saturday, July 26--fireworks (coordinator, Lynda Pascone)

Ticket price:  $5.50 per person (paid in advance, not refundable)

Game time: 6:05 p.m. (gates open at 5:05 p.m.)

 

Please email Lynda with your name and how many tickets you need.

     Payment must be received no later than July 15 to Lynda.

Linda will reply to you with her mailing address.

Checks payable to Pack 61.

Tickets will held be at the "Will Call" window.

 

7/27/08:  Fishing Day on Sunday at Southford Falls

Rain or shine (unless there's thunder!). 

Christina will be there with her boys and will bring live bait and extra hooks. 

Bring a prepared fishing pole and a picnic dinner if you'd like.

August:  

8/19/08: Picnic at Ballentine

The Pack is holding a Summer Time Picnic at Ballentine Park on Tuesday August 19th from 5-7pm.  There will be games, food and fun and will be a nice pre-back-to-school event for the boys.  It will count as an event toward their summertime award.

The pack will provide burgers and dogs and asks that each family bring one additional food item to share with the group.  If you are going to attend please email Jen Troy and let her know how many will be attending and what item you are bringing.

(This event will not include the town pool)

Summer Reading Contest:

If you’re looking to motivate your child to keep up his reading during the summer, check out The Boy’s Life Summer Reading Contest.  All boys who enter earn a very neat badge and the winner will get a $100 gift certificate good for any product in the Boy Scouts official retail catalog. Second-place winners will receive a $75 gift certificate and third-place winners a $50 certificate.
